Precautions for Using Torque Wrenches
Set the Torque
Adjust the wrench to the specified torque value. For click and digital wrenches, this involves turning the handle or entering the value into the digital interface.
Position the Wrenchving
Place the wrench on the fastener. Ensure that the tool is properly seated to avoid slipping.
Apply Torque
Gradually apply force until the desired torque is reached. For click wrenches, listen for the click; for digital wrenches, watch the display.
Avoid Overtightening
Once the desired torque is achieved, stop applying force immediately to avoid over-tightening.
Store Properly
After use, set the torque wrench to its lowest setting to relieve tension on the internal spring and store it in a protective case.
